Privacy Policy
Stick is designed to keep your notes on your devices. This page explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and what it never does.
Summary
- Stick has no accounts. You never sign in to anything.
- Stick has no servers and no analytics. Your notes are not sent to us.
- Your notes are stored locally on your Mac and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own Apple iCloud account.
- The developer of Stick has no access to your notes.
What Stick stores locally
When you create a note, Stick stores its content, formatting, color, tags, project assignment, position on the canvas, reminders, and timestamps in a Core Data database inside the app's container on your Mac. This database is private to Stick and is removed if you uninstall the app.
iCloud sync
If you leave iCloud sync enabled in Settings, Stick syncs your notes through Apple's CloudKit service to your private iCloud database. This is the same iCloud account associated with your Apple ID. The data is sent directly between your device and Apple's servers, and the developer of Stick has no access to it.
You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in Settings. When off, your notes stay on the Mac you are using.
Backups
Stick can create automatic backups of your notes on a schedule you choose. Backups are written either to a local folder you select or to your iCloud Drive. Backups never leave your devices or your own iCloud storage.
Analytics and tracking
Stick contains no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, and no third party SDKs. The app does not phone home. The app does not know how often you use it or what is in your notes.
Crash reports
If you have macOS crash reporting enabled in your system settings, Apple may send crash reports to the developer through App Store Connect. These reports contain technical information about the crash and do not contain the contents of your notes.
Purchases
Stick is sold through the Mac App Store. When you buy the app, Apple handles your payment and delivery using your Apple ID. The developer of Stick does not receive your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs that information.
Children
Stick is a general productivity app. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated and a notice will be posted on this site.
